Always keep the closet doors shut. If you think they’re watching you, they are. You’ll hear the jingle of empty hangers, or the stumbles on your empty shoes. They live between the clothes you wear or huddled behind the stored items in the back. Opening the doors you will get the feeling of loneliness, isolation. It’s you and them. You take a breath as you pull the apparel along the rod. Will they finally show up from the in betweens? You’ve selected your garment, now the exit. Will they reach for you? Quickly you step out from the darken bowels of your home into the safe and securely lit world you know. The door is closed and pressed tightly at the edges. In side they calm, they wait to watch you again another day.
